doff, doffed, doffing.

as i was walking today, i passed a cute old man... and he doffed his hat to me! why do more people not doff hats? i think there needs to be more doffing in the world. i just like the word doff.
and on that same walk i breathed in and swallowed a bug.

silent auction

Our silent auction is fast approaching and so i thought i would post the invite so that you would be spurred on to come out for it. it's going to be sweet... there are a bunch of items and quite a few good international ones too from trips people have taken (even to nigeria). so come on out! (if you do want a ticket, you could call me or call the office. whichever you prefer).

my weeks.

well, it's been quite the full couple weeks since i've written... 2 major things have happened...

one. my brother is engaged!!! congratulations to adam and elyse. wedding date yet to be determined (as far as i know).
two. sufjan in seattle. wow. entertaining, breathtaking, marvelous, hilarious, ingenious, creative, and just great all around (including the opener 'my brightest diamond' who has an amazingly beautiful and strong voice).

yup. nothing really more to say than that. i'm off to play some games. 'games? i love games, pick me!' - dorie, finding nemo

surprise!!! or lack there of.

do i like suprises? i thought so. then i was informed by at least a couple of people that i didn't. hmmmm.
it's my birthday and i wasn't going to do anything cause me and everyone else are just so busy we couldn't coordinate schedules to go out. but i was going to over to my friend's house tonight, after kid's clubs, to watch amazing race and play games.
then yesterday i was informed by this friend that a bunch of people were going to come for a surprise party. she thought she should tell me because i don't like surprises and a couple of people affirmed that. huh.
it's not that i don't like surprises, it's just that i'm hard to surprise cause i always figure it out! this time i didn't even need to do the figuring.
but it should be good anyways. it's fun people and fun times.
