saturday

saturday was a great (and long) day. first, a gilmore girls marathon (with catherine and kristie). on my way to kristie's i picked up a little tim horton's (always good). then we watched gilmore girls for about 6 and a half hours with a chinese takeout in the afternoon. then i had to go to work for 3 hours (who works a three hour shift? pointless). then the previous post happened after i finished work and was wainting for the friends.
after that was cleared up (thankfully minus police since, in my panic i actually managed to guess (yes, randomly guess) the right code for the alarm thereby alerting the alarm people that no police dispatch was needed... however the alarm box was still flashing causing my worry of the police being dispatched to continue... and the alarm company didn't bother to call), we went back to the scene of the gg marathon, to wait for the arrival of catherine who was due to arrive home at 12:30am. she arrived and we were going to watch a movie (v for vendetta) but then decided to be more adventurous and drove to vancouver (with a stop at the 24hour starbucks) to watch more gg on the deep cove beach while waiting for sunrise. and then it rained.
that's my saturday story.

breaking and entering

so, i'm here at my friends' house waiting for their return... either them or the police. see my friend told me to come here and wait for their return, and she told me the code for the door... however she forgot to inform me of the alarm and the code for that nice peice of technology.
and they don't have a cell phone on them. and their parents are camping so they are out of reach as well.
i'm hearing noises that sound like police surrounding the building. am i paranoid?
i guess we'll see who gets here first.
if you see me on the news, you'll know why.

my weekend and the future.

why did i think it was a good idea to put suntan lotion on my arms only? hindsight is 20/20 i suppose. not such good news for my chest and legs which bore the brunt of 3 hours of extreme heat. whoops.
ah yes, no TB for me. i'm healthy as can be besides the hacking up of yellowy phlegm. it's ok, it's not TB.
i'm taking pics tonight of my new place. i will post them tomorrow, i think.
VBS is this week. our 7 pre-school kids are superb. i think it'll be a sweet week. i get the fun job of hiding a treasure chest each morning that contains our story and props and then drawing a treasure map with picture clues leading to said treasure. i love it!
so that's all i'm doing this week. and working of course.
i was sad this weekend cause i had a copy of tsotsi in my hands and had no (absolutely no) time to watch it. oh the dissapointment.
well, i am back at the video store for a couple shifts a week, so bring on the free movies! i will watch tsotsi soon... don't worry about me.
ok bye.

TB or no TB, that is the question

yesterday our office was infiltrated by a swarm of public health nurses stabbing us all with their weapon of choice. the needle.
they plunged it into my arm forcing a bubble of some sort of solution just under the surface of my skin.
will it react?
someone at our office developed TB, so we all needed to be tested since we were all exposed to it.
today my arm seems to be ok, so i think that i am TB free.

painting, couches, weddings...

oh painting. why did i think you were a good idea?
it was actually a good idea, i'm just exhausted right now. i'm excited that we're going to get most of the painting done tomorrow and then i get to move everything in to my new home!!! that's exciting for me. a little freedom, a little more independence. i'll post some pics of my new place when i'm done painting... that way you'll be able to see my sweet space. really you all should just come visit me and see it firsthand, that would be the best thing for everyone i believe. and if you're from out of town, you could stay on my couch. trust me it's comfy, i've had the opportunity to spend the night on it already. (or if your picky, you could have my bed and i'll sleep on the comfy couch).
speaking of me sleeping on the couch, that happened on the night of my friend's stagette party (another friend, different to previous mentions of stagette parties). that was a fun night. but i have to say, the wedding was pretty fun. who knew i was a dancer?! not me, let me tell you! but apparently i was in my comfort zone there, cause i cut a rug! i do have to say that swing dancing was my favorite of the night! i can really throw people around! (girls that is, cause there were not really any single guys at the wedding, so i was the 'leader' in most swing dances).
so that was the last wedding of the summer... one more at the beginning of sept... and then i think that's it for the year. whew.
let the babies begin!
